Some of the most authentic tasting Thai food I have had in the magic valley. I eat here at least once a month and the staff is the best!

I have no idea how this restaurant received 4 plus star. I realize that Twin Falls is not an epicenter of Asian culture, but I am definitely wondering if all the good was prepared by someone who never had Thai food, but read about it and made it the way they thought it should be. Being from Seattle, I am judging by the level of cuisine available in our area.

We ordered green curry and the garlic shrimp. The curry was described as having peas, carrots, eggplant, and basil. The peas and carrots were obviously taken from a bag of frozen peas and carrots that you buy from the grocery for less than a dollar a bag. Not fresh vegetables! Really? Not sure if the few tiny pieces of eggplant were really eggplant. And there was one leaf of basil that tasted more like cooked spinach. I doubt it was the traditional darker purple Thai basil. The curry itself tasted like very thin broth with a little curry paste and a dab of coconut milk.

The garlic shrimp was at least not over cooked, but very small portion and no garlic pieces discernable. Maybe they used garlic powder?

I hope that if you choose to go out in Twin Falls that you don't eat at "Taste of Thai", because you would be mislead as to what Thai food is about. Thai food is made with fresh ingredients and well balanced flavors. I would recommend you visit an area or restaurant where Thai people cook the meals. Try another cuisine or stick to American food instead in Twin Falls.
